The trick: mathematics gave us extra alphabets
Unicode encodes complete styled Latin alphabets in its Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block so that formulas can distinguish a bold x from an italic x. Social media users discovered these characters make bios and usernames stand out where formatting buttons don't exist. How does fancy text work if fonts can't be pasted?
It isn't a font. Unicode contains thousands of styled letter characters โ ๐ฏ๐ผ๐น๐ฑ, ๐๐ก๐๐๐๐, ๐๐ธ๐๐พ๐ ๐ and more โ originally added for mathematics. The generator swaps each plain letter for its styled twin, and those characters survive copy-paste anywhere.
Where can I use fancy text?

Why does my fancy text sometimes show as boxes (โก)?
The viewing device lacks a glyph for that character. Mainstream styles like bold, italic and circled render almost everywhere; more exotic ones (squared, double-struck) fail more often on older systems.
